Journalists in Burkina Faso to be recognized for excellence in reporting as the media environment grows

Three journalists will be recognized for their exceptional reporting on maternal, infant, and young child nutrition, as part of a national competition in Burkina Faso that will culminate during World Breastfeeding Week. Building Better Breastfeeding Counselling Programmes: New tools for implementation

The Global Breastfeeding Collective is organizing a global webinar during World Breastfeeding Week to introduce new tools and resources to support skilled breastfeeding counselling to all women during the first thousand days of their children’s lives.

Regional webinar “Implementing the Code and relevant World Health Assembly resolutions in West and Central Africa”

More than 250 ​people from across the region registered to the regional webinar “Implementing the Code and relevant World Health Assembly resolutions in West and Central Africa” organized by UNICEF​, World Health Organization, Alive & Thrive, Helen Keller International and IBFAN Afrique in collaboration with the West Africa Health Organization. 

The webinar reviewed the state of implementation of the Code in the region, introduced available tools for improving national-level monitoring and enforcement, and shared country experiences from Cote d’Ivoire and Nigeria. The webinar was held simultaneously in French and English on May 26, 2021.

As part of the 40th anniversary of the Adoption of the International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes, we are pleased to invite you to a regional webinar “Implementing the Code and relevant World Health Assembly resolutions in West and Central Africa”.

The purpose will be to review the state of implementation of the Code in the region, introduce available tools for improving national-level monitoring and enforcement, and share country experiences.

The 90-minute webinar will take place on Wednesday, May 26 from 11.00 to 12.30 GMT.

Simultaneous interpretation in French and English will be available.
